IDFA dokumentumfilm fesztivál: diákszekció
2011.07.11. 16:53
The 24th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, the festival for creative documentaries, will take place in Amsterdam from 16 – 27 November 2011. Each year, IDFA selects and screens more than 300 documentaries, running the gamut from international audience favourite to artistic experiments along the fringes of the genre.
As it is one of IDFA’s aims to discover new daring films and new talent we would like to welcome you to submit your student graduation film(s) for the IDFA Competition for Student Documentary for IDFA 2011. The IDFA Competition for Student Documentary jury will grant the IDFA Award for Student Documentary to the best student film (€ 2,500). Selection for this competition also automatically allows you to take part in the exclusive IDFAcademy programme during the festival.
Documentaries of any length that were finished after 1 August 2010 are eligible for IDFA 2011. There are no fees involved, not even if your film gets selected, but please keep our last deadline in mind: 1 August 2011. Please note that you may still submit your film before August 1 – even if it was completed between 1 August 2010 and 1 April 2011.
The main regulations of the IDFA Competition for Student Documentary can be found on IDFA Regulations.
Please feel free to watch some of the (award winning) student films that we have selected in the past on IDFA TV. They can be found on IDFA TV theme programs.
Submit with MyIDFA
In order to submit a film, you first have to create a MyIDFA account or use your MyIDFA account from previous years. This will allow you to submit films and projects to IDFA as well as to the Docs for Sale and FORUM markets. You can register for MyIDFA on our website.
Additional relevant deadlines
The FORUM is Europe's largest gathering of filmmakers, television commissioning editors, and independent documentary producers. Over the course of three days, independent producers pitch their projects in various public pitch setups depending on subject matter, financing, and stage of development.
Deadline: 1 September 2011
