Our first-year students at the Zsigmond Vilmos Film Festival

Our students participated in the work of the festival’s student jury, where, in addition to screenings, they also gained experience through professional discussions and community programs. According to their reports, the participation proved to be particularly valuable, as they were able to gain direct insight into the diversity of contemporary cinema while also building new professional connections. During their work in the student jury, they had the opportunity to evaluate the festival’s films from their own perspectives and to actively engage in professional film discourse. The students’ experiences suggest that the festival provided not only professional development but also personal inspiration. The screenings and the atmosphere of the festival strengthened many of them in their commitment to a career in film, while also offering new perspectives on creative work and future opportunities. Their participation clearly demonstrates that such international professional events play an important role in helping emerging filmmakers gain experience and strengthen their motivation.
