We are excited to announce the call for animation films for the second edition of Animates!

We are organizing our animation festival for the second time between September 26–28, 2025, and it will feature a competition section as well.

If you are a fan of animation and have already tried or feel like trying to tell a story using this tool of expression, this is an excellent opportunity for you:

The AniMates Festival online call for entries invites short animated films in two categories:

A. Free interpretation of the theme: dialogue
B. Student films: exam films, graduation films

The competition is open to short films using any animation technique: hand-drawn, computer-drawn, collaged, photographed stop-motion or other preferred animation technique.

The main prize in each category is an iPad 10 and participants are welcome to attend the AniMates Festival in Cluj-Napoca, 26-28 September 2025.

The festival aims to connect animation schools and animation lovers from Europe (with a special focus on Hungarian and Romanian ones).

TILL WHEN: 14th of September 2025.

LENGTH: 30°'-3' (30-180 seconds) for dialogue (A); 1' -6' (60-360 seconds) for student films (B)
