The Death of Darcula at the Mediawave Festival
23/05/2024 04:58 PM
This special film is the result of a collaboration between the Media Department of Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania and the Association of The Hungarian Filmmakers from Transylvania, in which several current and former film students worked together.
We are delighted that the first work-in-progress version of the film was presented at the Mediawave Festival, as this unique professional film and music forum was the starting point of the collaboration between the film's creative producer Róbert Lakatos (member of our Department) and composer Miqué Montanaro.
Thank you to everyone who honoured us with their presence and to those who supported our work! We managed to present Dracula in a different way than usual and we hope you enjoy the harmony between film and music. The next work-in-progress screening of the film, accompanied by live music, will take place during the prestigious Transilvania International Film Festival on 19 June, at 18:00, at Cinema Arta in Cluj-Napoca.
The film will also be shown this summer at the Ördögkatlan festival in Hungary.
For TIFF, we are also planning a photography exhibition of cyanotypes and werk photos, curated by our photography teacher Mira Marincaș, in the lobby of the University Ceremonial Hall.
Thanks to Róbert Lakatos for his project management and hard work! Thanks also to our students, teachers and actors for their high-quality creative work! (directors: Attila Gödri Attila, Flóra Kovács, Gyopár Buzási, Szabolcs Benedek, Orsolya Orbán, Boglárka Farkas, Nóra Miklós, Zsófia Makkai; DOPs: Endre Dózsa, Ádám Török, Balázs Rokaly, Balázs Bodor, Gergő Jancsik, Csaba Dénes; editing, post-production, VFX: Alex Böjthe; actors: Tibor Pálffy, Enikő Varga, Lehel Salat, Áron Dimény, Lóránd Váta, Ervin Szűcs). We would also like to thank the Animato Quartet from Cluj-Napoca and the musicians who joined them for their excellent performance and involvement in this project.
